Gotland
This breed originates from Sweden and is famed for the exceptional quality of its fleece. The breed was first established on the Swedish island of Gotland by the Vikings with Karakul and Romanov sheep brought back from expeditions deep into Russia and crossed with the native landrace sheep.
They are fine-boned and of medium size. Their hornless black head is free from wool. They have bold eyes and alert medium sized ears. They are bright, active and friendly.
